Solan is the district headquarters of Solan district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The largest Municipal Council of Himachal Pradesh, it is located 46 kilometres south of the state capital, Shimla. At an average elevation of 1,600 metres. The place is named after the Hindu goddess Shoolini Devi. Karol Tibba located at an altitude of 2240 metres is highest peak of Solan region. There is a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali at Karol Peak. Along the trek, we also visit famous Pandva Gufa/cave, which is the oldest and longest cave in Himalayas. Cave starts here and ends in Parwanoo.
