On your arrival at Chandigarh railway station / airport you will be met by our driver and he will drive you to Manali. We will stop for lunch break and various picture and comfort breaks on the way to Mandi. The journey from Chandigarh to Manali is around 290 kms ( 11 hrs), so to give you a break we will stop at Mandi on our first day of the tour journey. Overnight stay in Mandi in a hotel or you can choose to stay in a home stay with a local family in village Panjgain, where you can experience the village life.
Day 02: Manali to Jispa 3,200 metres / 10,500 feet (138 kms / 7 hrs)Places to Visit in Kaza Travel Guide Today after breakfast we will make a early start and on the way cross the Rohtang pass (3,980 meters/ 13,ooo feet) meaning Pass Of Corpses. We entered into the Lahaul valley as soon as we cross the Rohtang pass. Lunch will be in a local eating place at Khoksar and further we continue our drive to Jispa through Tandi and Keylong. We will arrive Jispa by late afternoon, which itself is a very tiny the night at the tiny settlement with a couple of local houses, hotels and camps. Jispa sits at the foot of the mighty 16,000-foot Baralacha Pass at an altitude of some 10,500 feet – again providing valuable acclimatisation time before heading really high on the Manali Leh Road.
Day 03: Jispa to Sarchu. 4,290 metres 14,500 feet (85 kms / 4 hrs)Today after breakfast we will drive you to Sarchu over the our second mountain pass, Baralacha La (4,830 metres/ 15, 847 feet), during the tour. The view from the top is extraordinary. Today we enter from the brown mountains to golden sandy mountains. On the other side of Baralacha descend onto a huge, open plain with an azure river frothing at its centre, surrounded by huge mountains. Sarchu is situated on the border of Jammu-and-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh states and is where we will stay in a fixed tented accommodation in a seasonal camp.
Day 04: Sarchu To Leh. 3,524 metres / 11,562 feet ( 252 kms / 8-9 hrs)Places to Visit in Leh to Sarchu-Book Ladakh Holiday Package-Leh Ladakh Tour Packages After breakfast around 08:00 A.M we will leave for Leh. Today we ride through 21 hair pin bends to Lachlung La Pass (5,019 metres/ 16, 467 feet) and enroute we enjoy magnificent views of the Mountains and the valleys. We will also cross Naki La Pass (4,740 metres/ 15,551 feet) before we ride down into the valley to Pang . Today there are chances to see the Snow ibex and the herds of wild Himalayan blue sheep in between Sarchu to Pang. Lunch will be taken at the small eating places with fresh food at village of Pang, before we ride through the vast More Plains The highest of the Tibetan Plateau at 4,200 metres– to Tsokor lake. This region also has rare wild life like the Tibetan wild Ass, wolf, and the elusive Snow Leopard, the black-necked Crane and Tibetan Snow Cock. We Continue driving to Tanglang La pass (5280 Mts.) the second highest Motorable pass in the world that commands breath taking views of the Zanskar range and the upper Indus valley. We stop on the way in the local eating places to sip a cup of tea and while following the Indus river and the spectular mountains views with green fields and purple mountains, sandy landscape we arrive in Leh by evening – the capital of Ladakh valley, by late afternoon. Overnight stay in Hotel in Leh.
Day 05: Local Leh SightseeingToday after breakfast around (10:00 A.M) we will leave for a easy , half day sightseeing tour with local guide including, a visit to the Thiksey Monastery, stok palace and village. We will be back to Leh by late afternoon and in the evening visit Shanti Stupa and Leh fort, rest of the time free to walk around the local market of Leh. Second night in same hotel in Leh.
Day 06: Leh to Pangong Lake 4,250 metres/ 13,940 ft (160 kms 5 hrs)Nubra Valley Travel Guide for Pangong Tso Lake in Ladakh Today after breakfast we will drive you to Pangong Lake .The drive over Chang La pass (17,500 feet) will take us in the most remote of regions of Ladakh valley to Pangong Lake. Pangong Lake is the largest lake in the Himalayas situated at a height of about 4,350 metres (14,300 ft). It is 134 km long and extends from India to China (Chinese occupied Tibet) 60% of the length of the lake lies in China. The lake is 5 km wide at its broadest point. We will stay overnight stay at Spangmik village in the fixed tented accommodation in a seasonal camp. Spangmik, the farthest point to which foreigners are permitted, it affords spectacular views of the mountains of the Chang chemo range to the North, their reflections shimmering in the ever-changing blues and greens of the lake’s brackish waters. Evening free to walk around the lake, overnight in fixed tented accommodation in near the Pangong Lake.
Day 07: Pangong Lake to Leh back (160 kms 5 hrs)Today after breakfast we will return back to Leh driving through the same route. This morning there are chances to see the marmots, which come out of their holes during the early morning hrs to have sun. Enroute we will also stop in the camps of Nomadic people where they are busy grazing their yaks, we might have a cup of tea with the nomadic people. Evening free to explore Leh market, overnight in a hotel in Leh.
Day 08: Leh to Deskit – Hunder (Nubra valley, 120 kms -5 hrs)After breakfast we will drive you to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 feet). Today we follow the Ancient Silk Route in Nubra valley”. Arrive at Deskit and visit the monastery at Deskit. Later on after lunch continue your drive to Hunder village. Evening is free to explore the Hunder Village where you can visit the sand dunes and enjoy the, Bactrian camel ride in Sand Dunes. Overnight in Hotel in Deskit.
Day 09: Hunder to Leh back.After Breakfast we will visit the local houses and later we will drive you back to Leh town over the Khardung La pass and will reach Leh by late afternoon. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight in hotel at Leh.
Day 10: Fly from Leh to Delhi.TodayAfter breakfast, in the morning we will drive you to Leh airport to board the flight back to New Delhi. This is where the tour ends. However, if you wish to stay longer in Chandigarh we can make arrangements for you to be transferred to the airport / railway station at a later time.
